Why Join A Choir?

It's been said that music education can feed a student socially, emotionally, and spiritually. This is certainly true of participation in Keystone Youth Choir (KYC). Socially, it helps to build teamwork skills. Your student will gain self-confidence as they master new skills and perform. Spiritually, there will be pieces that speak to and encourage the heart and soul. In addition, they will be developing a skill which they can use in their own personal worship. On a practical note, this is an excellent way for your middle school and high school students to fulfill their Fine Arts requirements.  Auditions are open to students grades 3-12  (aged 8-18 years). KYC meets in the Social Hall of Trinity Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 151 W. County Line Road, Hatboro, PA 19040.

Your Commitment

We know that extra time is something homeschool parents don't have. As a Keystone Youth Choir parent, your primary commitment is to ensure your students attend each week and arrive on time. Your commitment to the choir is for a full academic year. The students and choir as a whole benefit from consistent participation from September to April. Finally, we will ask for your help in providing snacks for the after-concert receptions. Students will take their music home each week and are responsible for bringing it to practice. Individual practice at home is encouraged. Each student's biggest commitment is to put forth their very best effort.
